No. Agnus Unawatuna is a hillside sea-view hotel, not a beachfront property. Its elevated Rumassala setting provides panoramic ocean views while keeping guests close to the beaches around Unawatuna.
How far are the beaches, and what complimentary shuttle service is available?
The nearest beach is approximately a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Agnus provides a complimentary shuttle to Jungle Beach with drop-off and pick-up. A complimentary one-way shuttle is also available to Unawatuna Beach for drop-off only.
How close is Agnus to Galle Fort?
Galle Fort is a short drive from the hotel, making Agnus a convenient base for exploring the fort’s historic streets, museums, shops and restaurants while staying in the quieter surroundings of Rumassala.

The hotel offers five room categories: Panoramic Double Room with Galle Bay View, Deluxe Twin Room with Ocean View, Deluxe Oceanview Room with Partial Sea View, Deluxe Garden View Room and Deluxe Garden Access Room.
Do all rooms have a full ocean view?
No. Views vary by category. The Panoramic Double and Deluxe Twin categories offer the strongest sea outlooks; Deluxe Oceanview Rooms have partial sea views framed by greenery; Garden View Rooms face the tropical landscape; and Garden Access Rooms open onto a private garden. Please choose the category that best matches the view and outdoor space you prefer.
Do rooms have private outdoor space?
The Panoramic Double, Deluxe Twin, Deluxe Oceanview and Deluxe Garden View categories include a private verandah and balcony. Deluxe Garden Access Rooms instead open directly onto a private garden reserved for guests in that category.
Is there a swimming pool?
Yes. Agnus has a rooftop infinity pool overlooking Galle Bay, the Indian Ocean and the distant Galle skyline. It is one of the hotel’s signature places to relax and enjoy the sunset.
Does the hotel have a restaurant and bar?
Yes. Guests can dine at the hotel and enjoy drinks and light refreshments at Bonavista Lounge, the rooftop venue beside the infinity pool. Please contact the team for current menus, service times and any special dining requests.
